Frequently Asked Questions

What impact will it have on our power bill by switching to energy efficient windows?

Starting in 1992, with help from ENERGY STAR®, American businesses and families saved $297 billion on utility bills and prevented more than 2.1 billion metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions by 2013. All Pella® products meet or exceed ENERGY STAR certification in all 50 states and most of Canada. What impact will this have on you? Not only could you notice a decline with your heating and cooling charges, you’ll also help protect the environment.

How much will my replacement door or replacement windows project cost?

Our windows and doors are all specifically designed and custom-built for your home, meaning no two projects are alike. Our wide range of products make it difficult to discuss pricing without first considering your needs, wants and the project results you envision. Due to this nature, we find it mutually beneficially to send out a Pella sales representative who will give you a quoted project price once they have seen the project site itself. To speed up the quoting process, your Pella® sales representative is prepared with a computer and a portable printer so that they can provide you with all the quote information you’ll need—once the sales representative has had a chance to consider the requirements of the job and matches them with your vision.

In addition to offering a broad range of first-rate products to select from, we also have a generous offering of payment and finance options. Pella is uniquely-suited to offer you great window and door products at affordable prices, giving you a chance to make the home improvements you want to while building great value into your Sunset Hills area home all the while.

What should I use to clean my glass windows?

We suggest that you use a prepackaged vinegar-based cleaning mixture or use an ammonia free glass cleaner such as Windex or Sparkle. You can also mix your own with one part vinegar to ten parts water. Put the solution on a soft, clean microfiber cloth or paper towel. We do not recommend glass cleaners that are ammonia- or alcohol-based because they could form streaks or create a film that attracts moisture and dust.

Do Pella® employees actually install your replacement windows and doors?

Pella uses contract installers who are certified to install Pella doors and windows. They must complete a carefully crafted set of training courses so that your windows and doors are correctly installed and meet Pella’s strict warranty standards. We seek out the best Sunset Hills-local people and recruit them to install our projects. Before they can be hired, Pella requires them to pass a drug test and background check. Our installers are fully protected by liability and workers compensation insurance. Beyond Pella product warranties, your installation is also covered for 10 years under the installation limited warranty and service agreement.

What's different about buying replacement windows and doors from local Pella® showrooms versus buying from retailers like Lowe’s?

Pella provides services and support that “big box” stores can’t match. Our experts are highly-trained in selling, installing, and servicing Pella Windows & Doors. Having a dedicated Pella sales team, project manager, local service technicians, and expert installers means that your renovation will have the knowledge of our whole team. We frequently use the term “single source accountability”, meaning that there’s no one to chase down regarding a product, installation, or warranty issue. If you have any concerns, simply contact our office or your sales representative and we will get to work resolving the issue.

Why is Pella® the right choice for my home?

There are several important reasons why Sunset Hills homeowners pick Pella for their replacement window and door needs. Pella is a privately owned, professionally managed company founded in 1925. Each of our high quality windows and doors are manufactured with high standards and serviced by Pella’s unique Direct Sales Network. Unlike most other window and door companies who sell exclusively through third-party channels, Pella has dedicated windows & door stores the U.S. and Canada. This unique way of conducting business gives Pella clients in Sunset Hills a highly personal experience with the assistance of a local to Sunset Hills, Pella-certified team. Whether you are contemplating the beauty of wood, the strength of fiberglass, or the low maintenance of vinyl—Pella has a high quality, energy efficient and durable solution.
